Copic Color Sets for Painter X by Flareon-Jupiter Copic Color Sets for Painter X by Flareon-Jupiter
I was inspired to do this after downloading the Photoshop Copic Colors by :icono0katriana0o:

[link]

Colors are grouped into sixteen sets, plus there’s a bonus complete set for your convenience. I used the colors included in the chart featured on page 66 of the book, How to Draw Manga: Colored Original Drawing. That book makes a great reference!

[link]

These colors can be used with any of Painter’s brushes – Oils, Watercolors, Pastels, Pencils – experiment!

There are lots of colors to work with, but feel free to use Painter’s Mixer Palette to come up with some interesting colors of your own. It’s like filling an empty Copic marker with two or more different inks… but without the mess.

Please note that the “Colorless Blender” is actually white. To blend colors, use the Blender or Water brushes. The results are amazing (trust me).

I made the sets in Painter X, but they may work in earlier versions.

After downloading, just unzip the file to C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter (X or earlier)\Support Files\Color Sets. All sets are in a single folder -- simple as that!

NOTE: Mac Users can simply change the file extension name to ".colors".

Finally, please don’t redistribute these sets -- just link back or add to Favorites. It was very time consuming to work on these, and I have other projects in progress right now. If there are any problems let me know. Thanks, and have fun!

These are so useful for getting the right skintones...... not to mention wanting to play with copic markers but not wanting to fork out a lot of money on the refills and such that traditional copics require!

After downloading, just unzip the file to C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter XII\Support Files\Color Sets. All sets are in a single folder -- simple as that!

Once you take care of that, you'll be able to load the "Complete Set" from the Color Set panel in Corel Painter. :)

Do you think it will work with Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2? I'm technologically challenged so I downloaded the wrong program.

Although I'm not the creator of this set, I'm not too sure if it will be compatible with your software.

But feel free to give it a try if it has a Preset Brush folder. :aww:

I concur with Mark on this. To make this a D.D. makes no sense.

I've seen the responses to Mark's post here, and they don't support the justification on this being a D.D.

There are many helpful brush style downloads from people, and many how-to's from people that don't get D.D.'s: and they should not.

D.D.'s are for art by that artist, not tools, or helpful how-to's.

There is an entire category in the DDs reserved just for resources. If you take issue with resources being awarded DDs, then I suggest you write to the DD selector for resources, here: [link] or the director of all galleries, here: [link] rather than leaving rude comments on the artist's page when he/she has zero control over their work being featured. Thank you.

How did this become a DD ? it looks like an advertisement for Copic and no more than that , I will not mention trademark issues and violations with the copic name and logo .

Am sorry but this is in no way DD worthy at all

The 'advertisement' is just a preview for the file. If you click download, you will see it's a set of custom colors for Corel Painter. Custom brushes, fonts and other resources are featured as DDs all the time (In fact, there is an entire DD category reserved just for resources and stock). If you still have issue with this, please take it up with the person who featured it (here: [link] ), not the artist. The artist had no control over this becoming a DD and does not deserve rude comments. Thank you. :)

I understand that this may not look so DD-worthy to you, but to other users, preferably Corel Painter artists, they will find a copic brush set like this of high value for their work.

Take a good look at amazing copic marker owners like *kaoru-chan and *Ecthelian. You may not know this, but they spend a fortune on those traditional markers, (trust me, I know...they cost up to $7 a marker.), so not only does this brush set gives and extended amount of opportunity to digital artists, but it also helps them save countless amounts of money.

If you still don't agree with this becoming a DD, you are merely a click away from browsing other DD's. ;)

I am well aware of Copic markers , I use them my self ,I was simply referring to the fact that something that looks like an add becoming a DD not to mention that the Copic and Corel logos are trademarked .

The artist is not selling anything under the logos, he just used them so that you can know from the thumb exactly what he made: Copic marker shades that you can use in Corel XI. The guy made willingly, in his own time and for free, something useful for the whole community of digital artists, I don't see where's the problem with the use of logos

I had Painter X at the time I made these swatches, but they should work in previous versions.

I currently have Painter 11 and they work on that and (maybe) Painter 12.
